The Stephen Ministry equips members of the church body to provide
one-on-one care to those who are hurting.  Often, people with needs suffer silently and without a close, caring friend.  The Stephen Ministry matches people who have gifts of caring with those who need the touch of Christ's love in a one-on-one confidential, caring relationship.

   Stephen Ministers...

are people within the body of
Northwest who have the gift of
     caring.  These people are
     trustworthy and confidential.  They
have received 50 hours of training
     and have ongoing peer supervision.

   Care Receivers...

are people who need someone who will listen, care and share Christ's love. They
may be people in any of the following situations:

  • Homebound and/or alone
  • Hospitalized/recently discharged
  • Facing serious or terminal illness
  • Experiencing major adjustments to jobs, careers, residences, etc.
  • Residents of long term facilities
  • Experiencing absence of family members due to death, school, military assignment, marriage, divorce
  • Persons adjusting to becoming single parents
  • Going through difficulty
