NBC’s
Vision Statement
Northwest Bible Church is a body of believers who
seek to passionately follow Jesus Christ…
Ø
by worshipping God daily through prayer and
obedience to His Word,
Col. 3:17 And
whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
John 15:5 “I am
the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he
bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.”
John 14:21 “He
who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me; and he who
loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will
disclose Myself to him.”
Ø
by forming relationships through small-group and
discipling ministries,
John 13:34 “A
new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have
loved you, that you also love one another. 35 “By this all men will know
that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Col. 1:28 And we
proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all
wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ. 29 And for this
purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily
works within me.
Acts 2:42 And they were continually devoting
themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking
of bread and to prayer. 43 And everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and
many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. 44 And all
those who had believed were together, and had all things in common…46
And day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread
from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness
and sincerity of heart, 47 praising God, and having favor with all the
people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were
being saved.
Ø
by equipping members to serve worldwide with
Christ’s love, and
Eph. 4:11 And He
gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and
some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the
work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all
attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the
fulness of Christ.
John 3:16 “For
God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did
not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world
should be saved through Him.”
Ø
by declaring the gospel to the lost world.
Matt. 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples
of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son
and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the
gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes,
to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of
God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the
righteous man shall live by faith.”
Our impact
statement: “Passionately pursuing Jesus Christ.”
Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we have so great
a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every
encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with
endurance the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus,
the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured
the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the
throne of God. 3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by
sinners against Himself, so that you may not grow weary and lose heart.
Colossians 3:1 If then you have been raised up
with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated
at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things above, not
on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died and your life is
hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed,
then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of
God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when
He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is.
3 And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself,
just as He is pure.
Phil.
3:13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but
one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what
lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the
upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
